I am a business man and Chartered Accountant. I have successfully started and run three of my own businesses and invested in and advised many others including a garage, hairdresser, nursing home, trout farm and a specialist gas manufacturer. This experience has taken me through developing the business plan and direction; getting the right type of initial funding from equity, loan and bank borrowing to ensure the development of a strong financial base; developing appropriate management and financial controls and negotiating a sale when the owner wants to realise his or her investment. I am interested in helping a business get onto a growth track, creating a vision and turning it into a reality. I like to look for opportunities with business owners and help exploit them. In addition I have also developed an approach to ensure that business owners only spend the time they need to on a business - leaving them free to pursue other activities.
