I'm Peter Freeth and I am a leading business coach, author and trainer.
I work with business owners, MDs, CEOs, to help them to develop and grow in the way they want to. It's easy to think that, when someone is successful, or when they reach the top of their profession, that they've made it and they must be content. Often, I find that successful leaders have just as many personal goals and aspirations as anyone else, yet they are held back by the need to run the business they have created.
What I can give you is the freedom, space, time and support to explore your goals and to develop yourself in a way that complements the experience and expertise you already have.
My clients tell me that they don't have an easy job. They have no-one to talk to who understands their personal and business issues, yet is impartial to both. They can send their employees on training courses, but there are no training courses for CEOs. They can develop their people but it's harder to get the development they need for themselves. It's easy to think that once someone gets to 'the top' they just want to stay there. I have found my clients to be:
- Modest of their own success yet needing to build on it for the future
- Wanting to develop themselves in new areas but constrained by the company they run
- Wondering what the next step is for them - and even if there is one
I help my clients by building on their existing skills and experience, by facilitating the generation of strategic ideas and plans and by helping them resolve the day to day situations that are part of a CEO's life.
Most importantly, I help you find the time to develop yourself by choosing to let go of the many tasks that will be performed better by other people in your organisation. I help you move into a role where you can transcend the career upon which your business is based and embrace your role as an inspirational leader, helping the people who work for you to find their own motivation and purpose. You will be able to focus on forming strategic relationships with your clients and other peers and take a starring role in developing those media and PR connections that are vital for the continuing growth of your business. By focusing at this higher level, you make it easier for the people in your company to perform to the best of their ability as you embrace your leadership role and guide the business from the front rather than using up your energy pushing it from behind.
Since you started your business, your job has changed. You may have a small business today or a large one - the issues you face are much the same. It's time to move on from the person who started the business and face up to the role that waits to make you the person you always set out to be.
