Dave has worked in the UK construction industry for 27 years, initially as a site engineer then promoted through the ranks becoming operations manager for a large contracting company. For the last 10 years he has been involved in managing change both within companies and latterly as an external performance coach. He was Wates Construction Ltd's UK Programme Manager responsible for the design and implementation of their national award winning Improving Construction Programme. In 2001 he formed DSA Building Performance Ltd. to help individuals, teams and organisations improve their performance and results. In 1994 he was awarded the Chartered Institute of Buildings (CIOB) world wide top award the Lord Pilkington Prize and Gold Medal for Project Evaluation and Development. Dave is the current chairman of the CIOB Northern Development Group. He is a recognised international speaker and facilitator, also a regular columnist for Construction Manager/ other trade journals and has had several papers published on a wide range of construction and people related topics.. Dave is married with two young boys and lives in Washington - near Newcastle upon Tyne in the North East of England. He has competed at the highest level in triathlon representing Great Britain in the World Championships in Australia in 1991. Over the last 15 years he has completed over 100 triathlons throughout the UK and Europe. In his youth he boxed competitively and played golf to county standard, winning many club competitions.
