Ethics and behaviour:

bulletTo demonstrate high personal integrity, honesty and sincerity during the coaching process
bulletHave the ability to create trust empathy and rapport
bulletRemain non-judgmental throughout the process
bulletMaintain confidentiality to the extent of the clients wishes
bulletRemains focused on the client's needs and desired outcomes expressed by the client

Communication

bulletListens actively  to the client focusing on the clients message
bulletQuestions the client effectively to enable him/her to develop a strategy to positively support the clients required outcome and direction 
bulletCommunicates effectively during the coaching session
bulletAble to evaluate the clients communication by establishing good rapport interpreting the true meaning of the words in relation to the tone of voice
bulletEncourages the client to explore his/her position in relation to particular beliefs and perceptions
bulletEnsures that feedback to the client is clear and meaningful in terms of the client's intended outcomes

Facilitation

Facilitates the client to consider the reality of the current situation in more detail through:

bulletEnabling the client to define the current situation in more detail
bulletExploring levels of commitment
bulletEvaluating with the client resources that will support the desired outcome
bulletExploring in detail the obstacles that could prevent the desired outcomes

 

bulletHelp the client to identify strengths and areas for growth
bulletEffectively evaluates the information obtained from the client, and enables the client to make judgments based on their greater awareness of the situation
bulletEmpowers the client to establish clear goals that match their value and belief system
bulletFacilitates the client to make commitment and progress towards their identified desired outcomes
