I have been a professional negotiator all my working life, and an expert negotiating trainer and coach for the last 20 years. My background is in Employee Relations and Industrial Trouble Shooting throughout the 1970’s in the North West of England and the West of Scotland. My career concentrated on resolving demarcation issues, negotiating major pay and productivity deals, introducing significant technological change and managing the transition to radical new working practices. Much of this experience was gained within a large multi-site and highly unionised company. Scott Roberts & Associates, my trading organisation, was established in the early 1980’s. I have worked with over 6,000 Partners, Directors, CEOs and Senior Executives across a broad range of International Businesses, Government Departments and Public Services throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle and Far East and North America. I am a recipient of the Instructor Excellence Award from KPMG for my negotiating training with their European teams. In recent years, my skills and knowledge have increasingly been called upon to provide personal coaching for both negotiating teams and individuals. My interest is to release a level of confidence which will lead to the quiet inner calmness and clarity of thought that is the hallmark of the professional negotiator. Coaching allows us to safely look deeply into our reflection and find our own unique strengths and integrity. It is rewarding to be able to share both my own extensive experience and that of all those with whom I have worked with the negotiators of tomorrow.
